Tom Hanks Attached To Somali Pirate Film

Tom Hanks is attached to star in an untitled movie based on the story of Captain Richard Phillips, whose ship was hijacked by Somali pirates. Hanks is attached, but no deal is currently in place.

The story is based off Phillips’ memoir, which recounts the hijacking of his vessel in April of 2009. Phillips offered himself as a hostage to protect his crew, spending three days as a prisoner before being rescued by a team of Navy SEALS.
