Theatrical Releases for April 15th, 2011: Scream 4, Rio, And More!

Scream 4, Rio, and other films hit theaters today! We’ve got their official descriptions for you below!

Armadillo (NR), Documentary – In February 2009, documentary filmmaker Janus Metz accompanied a group of Danish soldiers at Armadillo, an army base in the southern Afghan province of Helmand. Metz and cameraman Lars Skree spent six months following the lives of young soldiers situated less than a kilometer away from Taliban positions.

Atlas Shrugged Part 1 (PG-13), Drama – After an economic collapse in the near-future United States, its top innovators and industrialists mysteriously disappear amid the growing power of politicians. Stars Grant Bowler, Michael Lerner, and Nick Cassavetes.

Dumbstruck (PG), Documentary – A look at the Vent Haven Convention, which bills itself as the ventriloquism capital of the world.

RIO (G), Family – A nerdy macaw from small-town Minnesota takes off on an adventure to Rio de Janeiro. Stars the voices of Anne Hathaway, Neil Patrick Harris, and George Lopez.

Scream 4 (R), Horror – “Scream 4” sees the return of the three main characters, along with a group of new stars. Stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and Emma Roberts.

The Conspirator (PG-13), Drama – The story of the conspiracy to assassinate President Lincoln, the military trial of the lone female charged, and the reluctant lawyer assigned to defend her. Stars James McAvoy, Robin wright, Justin Long, and Kevin Kline.

The Double Hour (NR), Thriller – A former cop is a luckless veteran of the speed-dating scene in Turin, but much to his surprise, he meets a chambermaid at a high-end hotel and the two hit it off. After they leave the city for a romantic getaway in the country, things suddenly take a dark turn. As Sonia’s murky past resurfaces, her reality starts to crumble.

The Imperialists Are Still Alive (NR), Drama – A variety of young emigres working in upper-class New York City while dealing with issues of assimilation and xenophobia.

The Princess of Montpensier (NR), Drama – To increase his family’s prestige, the Marquis de Mézières forces Marie to marry the Prince de Montpensier, whom she has never met.
