Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Super 8’ Beats ‘X-Men’

J.J. Abrams’ Super 8 scored the top spot at the box office this weekend, debuting with a $37 million gross. X-Men: First Class dropped a spot to #2 bringing in $25 million in its second week. The Hangover Part II fell to #3 in its third week with an $18.5 million gross. Kung Fu Panda 2 also slipped a spot in its third weekend, moving to #4 with $16.6 million. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides fell a spot to #5 with $10.8 million.

  1. I can’t say enough what a great movie this was. I know that Harry Potter will probably rival it for my favorite movie of the summer – but currently my money is on Super 8. 🙂
