Amy Adams Flattered By Jason Segel’s Invite To ‘The Muppets’

It didn’t take anything more than a personalized DVD message for Amy Adams to sign on for The Muppets which is due out this fall! The Enchanted actress received a DVD from the film’s writer/producer/star Jason Segel along with Kermit himself. Is anyone else hoping this is on the DVD extras?

While Adams admits she has always been a huge fan of the series, being asked by the famous green character was the deciding factor in taking on a role in the film.

“This is something I grew up with and was in love with. When I heard they were doing a new one I was really excited. Jason sent me a DVD where he and Kermit were inviting me to be part of The Muppets. It was really cool. Once Kermit asks you to do something it is really hard to look at him and say, ‘No.’ So I was hooked!” Adams explained.

However, Amy admitted to feeling huge pressure after she realised she was Jason’s first choice to star in the film with him when he wrote the script.

“I didn’t know the extent to which he had thought of me. I knew for him to send a personal invite to be a part of it and getting Kermit to be a part of it – I knew that he was serious about it. I didn’t know that he specifically had me in mind until I after I was on set. It’s a lot pressure and I didn’t know!” Adams revealed.

We can’t wait for The Muppets! Between Jason and Amy and all our favorite muppets – you couldn’t ask for a better cast! But there will loads of guest stars in this one from Mila Kunis, Emily Blunt, Neil Patrick Harris, Selena Gomex, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Jack Black, Katy Perry, Rashida Jones, John Krasinski, Ricky Gervais, Chris Cooper, Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, and so many more! We’ll there opening day this fall!
