Theatrical Releases for September 2nd: ‘Shark Night 3D’ Takes A Bit Out Theaters

Shark Night 3D, Apollo 18 and other films hit theaters today! We’ve got the full list of new releases for you below!

A Good Old Fashioned Orgy (R), Comedy – A group of 30-something friends host an orgy at the end of summer. Stars Lucy Punch, Jason Sudeikis, and Leslie Bibb.

Apollo 18 (PG-13), Thriller – The story follows film footage purported to have been shot by the crew of Apollo 18. This moon mission from the early 1970s was officially canceled by NASA, but according to urban legend, it actually happened. Footage shows signs of alien life, and the events of the mission are built into a thriller storyline.

Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame (PG-13), Mystery – When the mysterious deaths of a series of loyal subjects threaten to delay the 690 A.D. inauguration of Empress Wu, China’s only female leader, she calls the infamous Detective Dee back from an exile into which she cast him eight years earlier. Stars Any Lau.

Insight (NR), Thriller – An ER nurse who is tending to a young stabbing victim is accidentally electrocuted by the defibrillator that is used in an effort to save the woman’s life. Almost immediately she starts to experience the victim’s memories. No one takes her seriously and so she decides to take it upon herself to solve the crime as the terrifying visions threaten her sanity. Stars Sean Patrick Flanery, Natalie Zea, and Adam Baldwin.

Love Crime (NR), Thriller – When a powerful executive, brings on a naive young ingenue as her assistant she delights in toying with her naivete and teaching her hard lessons in a ruthless professional philosophy. But when the protege’s ideas become tempting enough to pass one as her own, she underestimates the assistant’s ambition and cunning and the ground is set for all-out war. Stars Kristin Scott Thomas, Ludivigne Sagnier, and Patrick Mille.

Saving Private Perez (NR), Comedy – A group of drug traffickers search for the cartel leader’s lost brother, who went missing in action in Iraq.

Seven Days in Utopia (G), Drama – A talented young golfer is set on making the pro tour but his first big shot turns out to be a public disaster. He escapes the pressures of the game and finds himself unexpectedly stranded in Utopia, Texas. It is home to eccentric rancher who forces Luke to question not only his past choices, but his direction for the future. Stars Lucas Black, Melissa Leo, and Robert Duvall.

Shark Night 3D (PG-13), Horror – Arriving by boat at a Louisiana lake island cabin, a group of friends quickly strip down to their swimsuits for a weekend of fun in the sun. But when star football player stumbles from the salt-water lake with his arm torn off, the party mood quickly evaporates. The group realizes they have to get him to a hospital on the other side of the lake, and fast. But as they set out in a tiny speedboat, they discover the lake has been stocked with hundreds of massive, flesh-eating sharks! As they face one grisly death after another they desperately to fend off the sharks, get help and stay alive long enough to reach the safety of dry land. Stars Chris Carmack, Joel David Moore, Alyssa Diaz, and Sara Paxton.
