Theatrical Releases for January 6th: A Slow Week For New Releases

The Devil Inside and three other films hit theaters today! It’s a bit of a slow week for releases, but if you’re looking for a new title to check out, here’s your options:

Beneath the Darkness (R), Suspense – After watching their best friend get murdered, a group of teens struggle to expose a local hero as the psychopathic killer and keep from becoming his next victims. Stars Dennis Quaid, Aimee Teegarden, and Tony Oller.

Norwegian Wood (NR), Drama – The story centers on the loves and losses of a sensitive college boy in the 1960s who is more interested in American literature than in the era’s political upheavals.

Roadie (R), Drama – After 20 years of touring, a roadie for a defunct 80s hair band returns home to live with his mother/ Stars Lois Smith, David Margulies, and Bobby Cannavale.

The Devil Inside (R), Horror – In 1989 Maria Rossi confessing that she had brutally killed three people. 20 years later, her daughter seeks to understand the truth about what happened that night. She travels to the Centrino Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Italy where her mother has been locked away to determine if her mother is mentally ill or demonically possessed. When she recruits two young exorcists to cure her mom using unconventional methods combining both science and religion, they come face-to-face with pure evil in the form of four powerful demons possessing Maria. Stars Fernanda Andrade, Simon Quarterman, and Evan Helmuth.
