Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Contraband’ Takes #1 Spot

Mark Wahlberg’s Contraband took the top spot at the box office this weekend grossing $24.1 million for the #1 spot. Opening at #2 was the 3D re-release of Beauty and the Beast grossing $18.5 million. Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol continued its impressive run, dropping just one spot to #3 in its fifth week pulling in $11.5 million. Opening at #3 was the gospel music-themed dramedy Joyful Noise taking in $11.3 million in its opening weekend. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows slipped two spots to #5 in its fifth weekend with $8.4 million.
