Theatrical Releases for February 3rd: ‘Big Miracle’ And More Hit Theaters

Big Miracle (PG), Drama – A fact-based film about the 1988 rescue of a trio of California gray whales that got trapped under the ice of the Arctic Circle. Stars John Krasinski, Drew Barrymore, and Kristen Bell.

Chronicle (PG-13), Fantasy – Three high school students make an incredible discovery, leading to their developing uncanny powers beyond their understanding. As they learn to control their abilities and use them to their advantage, their lives start to spin out of control, and their darker sides begin to take over. Stars Dane DeHaan, Ashley Hinshaw, and Anna Wood.

Kill List (NR), Horror – A group of soldiers, working as contractors, target a group of devil-worshippers. Stars Neil Maskell and Michael Smiley.

The Innkeepers (R), Thriller – After over one hundred years of service, The Yankee Pedlar Inn is shutting its doors for good. The last remaining employees are determined to uncover proof of what many believe to be one of New England’s most haunted hotels. As the Inn’s final days draw near, odd guests check in as the pair of minimum wage “ghost hunters” begins to experience strange and alarming events that may ultimately cause them to be mere footnotes in the hotel’s long unexplained history. Stars Sara Paxton and Pat Healy.

The Woman in Black (PG-13), Thriller – A young lawyer travels to a remote village where he discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman is terrorizing the locals. Stars Daniel Radcliffe, Ciaran Hinds, and Janet McTeer.

Windfall (NR), Documentary – The people of Meredith, in upstate New York, deal with a wind developer that promised to supplement the rural farm town’s failing economy with 40 industrial wind turbines.

  1. There are quite a few popular shows that are now movies. Should be interesting to see if the movies are as good as the shows have been. The Woman in Black and the Innkeeper are ones I will be seeing for sure.
