Michael Douglas Joins ‘Ant-Man’ Cast

Michael Douglas has been cast in the role of Hank Pym in Marvel Comics’ Ant-Man. Paul Rudd is confirmed to be playing the role of Scott Lang in the film as well. In the comics Hank Pym was the original Ant-Man, whose mantle was later taken up by Scott Lang.

Several years ago Edgar Wright spoke about his plans for the film, which included using the two versions of Ant-Man stating, “The idea that we have for the adaptation is to actually involve both… Henry Pym and Scott Lang. So you actually do a prologue where you see Pym as Ant-Man in action in the 60’s, in sort of ‘Tales to Astonish’ mode basically, and then the contemporary, sort of flash-forward, is Scott Lang’s story, and how he comes to acquire the suit, how he crosses paths with Henry Pym, and then, in an interesting sort of Machiavellian way, teams up with him.”

Ant-Man will be the first project to film at Pinewood Studios new Atlanta facility. Filming is expected to begin this May.
