DVD Review: Knocked Up

On the heels of 2005’s blockbuster The 40-Year-Old Virgin, writer/director/producer Judd Apatow again mines hilarity from the relatable human in a comedy about a one-night stand with unexpected consequences. Katherine Heigl (Grey’s Anatomy) joins Virgin alums Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann and Jonah Hill for a comic look about the best thing that will ever ruin your best-laid plans: parenthood. Allison Scott (Heigl) is an up-and-coming entertainment journalist whose 24-year-old life is on the fast track. But it gets seriously derailed when a drunken one-nighter with slacker Ben Stone (Rogen) results in an unexpected pregnancy. A couple of drinks and one wild night later, they’ve got nine confusing months to figure it out…

Review:
The year’s biggest comedy is now available on dvd! This hilarious and heart-warming comedy sheds light on the fear of getting older and taking on more responsibility. From writer/director/producer Judd Apatow comes a comedy about a one-night stand with unexpected consequences.

They say that opposites attract, and that couldn’t be more the case for slacker Ben (played by Seth Rogen) and career girl Alison (played by Katherine Heigl). On one evening of clubbing, the two cross paths and quickly part ways the next morning. Two months and several pregnancies tests later, Alison realizes that she’s pregnant, and it’s Ben’s baby! As the due date approaches, the two face various trials and tribulations as they attempt to have a relationship and prepare for parenthood.

The best thing about this dvd set is all of the insane extras! You get video dairies, Katherine Heigl’s audition, deleted/extended scenes and gag reels, and tons more special features! And we would recommend the unrated edition for a couple more even more special features! Be sure to pick up your copy today!
