Interview: Goat from The Men Who Stare At Goats

We had the opportunity to ask the star of the upcoming The Men Who Stare At Goats a couple questions. He talked with us about his audition process, what George Clooney was like, and the truth about goats and car paint. Check out the hilarious interview below!

Tell us about your audition process for this role.

Goat: Honestly it was like a cattle call… only for goats. I just went in, did my thing, and I guess they liked what they saw.

What was it like working with George Clooney?

Goat: A dream. I mean for my first real acting gig, to work with George Clooney is kind of unheard of. It took me a while to not be star struck.

What was your favorite part of filming?

Goat: Just working. Being able to live out my dream. And of course just making new friends, I feel like they are my new herd.

Any embarrassing moments you can tell us about?

Goat: Well, hahaha, it was so hot where we were filming I actually fainted once in the craft service line and everyone thought I was joking since that was what I do in my big scene.

Did the concept of the movie make you uneasy at all? Since it is about a psychic military unit who is rumored to be able to stop a goat’s heart with just a stare.

Goat: The fact this it is in fact a true story was a bit daunting, but i think really helped in my performance, there were points where i literally felt like i was in real danger, since I come from the method school of acting I had to believe that I was in fact going to be stared to death.

What kind of promotional work have you been doing for ‘Men Who Stare At Goats’?

Goat: Well the festivals, premieres, interviews, and I’m on Twitter so I keep up with my fans that way. @menwhostaregoat

Why should people see this movie?

Goat: Because it hilarious, it has an amazing cast, and it’s based on a true story so you’ll even learn something.

What made you decide to go into acting?

Goat: I don’t think you decide to go into acting, it decides to go into you!

Any other actors/actresses that you’re dying to work with?

Goat: Ugh so many!!! Sean Penn, Daniel Day Lewis, and the Pig who played Arnold in Green Acres

Maybe you can clear up a rumor for us, do you or any of your fellow goats really eat the paint off of cars?

Goat: We did but, then we found out about led poisoning , very dangerous! I like to visit young goats at farms around the country to teach them about the dangers of paint eating.
