DVD Review: Lost: Season 1

LOST: Season One is the unmissable introduction to an already classic show which is a must own for series’ fans and lovers of groundbreaking entertainment. Go back to the beginning and relive in glorious Blu-ray the first chapter of the Oceanic Flight 815 survivors’ struggle to stay alive after their plane crashes on an Island riddled with mystery and suspense. This groundbreaking first season earned twelve 2005 Emmy nominations and took home the prestigious award for Outstanding Drama Series. It also made household names of its appealing ensemble cast, which includes Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly and Josh Holloway.

Review:
The first season of LOST begins the chronicles of the stories of the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 after it crash lands on a mysterious, tropical island. We follow the large cast of characters as they discover new things about the island, and we discover things about their past. Each episode of the series features flashbacks of the characters (usually focusing on one person’s past), and the audience slowly begins to learn why each of the characters were on the plane when it crashed. Sound pretty straight forward, right? Don’t be tricked. The first season of LOST is only the beginning of a wild ride.

While on the island, the survivors discover many mysteries and discover that they’re not as alone as they thought. Aside from polar bears, hints of a monster prowling the jungle, and disturbing whispers in the night, the survivors encounter the strange and sinister inhabitants of the island, known only as “the Others.” Even more questions are aroused when some of the survivors discover a metal hatch in the ground, and a small group tries to leave the island by raft.
