Review:
Burn Notice is back for a second season starting July 10th on USA Network. Having been a huge fan of the first season of the show, I was anxious to see how the second season would pick up. In the season opener we’re inside the truck that Michael drives into at the end of last season. He’s transported to a place where he hears multiple gunshots, and then he is introduced to what will be his case for the episode. It’s his trial run with the people that put the burn notice on him, and they have their own plans in mind for Michael.

While Michael humors them, his goal is to meet the mysterious voice on the phone. When he finally does meet Carla, played by the beautiful Tricia Helfer, she brings a whole new set of rules to the table. Michael has met his match. Carla isn’t perfect though, and she has a bit of a slip at the end of the second episode that may help Michael in figuring out her history.

Bottom line, Burn Notice is a brilliantly written and acted show. If you’re not watching it, you should be. Rarely does a series come along that can deliver serious storylines while still retaining the ability to make fun of itself when the time is right. Be sure to check out season 2 of Burn Notice Thursday nights on USA Network.
