‘Pretty Little Liars’ Review: Picture This

Okay, so I am totally in love with this week’s episode of Pretty Little Liars! I must admit, this was by far my favorite episode. It featured my three favorite things: Jason, Ezra, and dreams involving them being shirtless.

In this week’s episode, heart’s were definitely broken. In fact, the episode begins with Aria (Lucy Hale) having a dream. It starts off with her in bed with Ezra (Ian Harding), but ends with her in bed with Jason (Drew Van Acker). What, whaaaat? (This actually doesn’t seem like an issue, though.)

During this episode, each liar seemed to have a huge dilemma.

1. Aria:
Aria definitely had it tough this week. I mean, dreaming about extremely hot men who both want you… So hard. (Can you sense my sarcasm?) Though, towards the end of the episode, we learn a little something about Jason DiLaurentis. As Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) were breaking into his shed, they find some interesting photos. Photos of Aria… Sleeping. Yup, that would really stop a girl from calling you. Lucky for him, he got to kiss her before she found out about his obsession for her.

2. Emily:
I feel so bad for Emily! ‘A’ really has it in for her. Not only is she/he messing with Emily’s toiletries, she/he’s also messing with her love life! Not cool. Emily invites Samara (Claire Holt) and her friends over to play some poker. It all seems like a great idea until she gets a text from ‘A.’

“Blocked ID: If Zoey leaves without your digits, your lab results go viral.” -A

Now, Emily has to make a choice. Samara or her future in swimming. The choice was clear, swimming won. She gave Zoey, Samara’s friend, her number. Sadly, Samara found out, and she wasn’t okay with it. Alright, I don’t really get this. Samara is allowed to flirt with other people, but Emily can’t? This shouldn’t have even mattered, it’s immature and I hated it. I barely felt any sympathy here.

3. Hanna:
Not only is she having daddy issues, she’s having issues with Caleb (Tyler Blackburn). Hanna (Ashley Benson) snagged the tear-jerking moment in last night’s episode. It is revealed that Caleb’s mother hired a private investigator to track him down. He makes it clear that he doesn’t want to know her, but Hanna convinces him to give her a call. In the end, Caleb had an amazing conversation with his mom. This leads to him telling Hanna that he’s moving to California to be with her. I felt so bad for Hanna, because she cares for him so much. She wants to be happy for him, but she can’t. As tears stream down their faces, they leave each other with a heart breaking, “I love you.” My only thought on this is, how can Ashley Benson look so gorgeous while crying. She should share her secrets.

4. Spencer:
No comment. Honestly, Spencer didn’t have anything horrible, or recappable (Is that a word?) happen to her during this episode. The only thing I can say is that she makes a rocking Jane Bond.

5. Jenna:
Although Jenna (Tammin Sursok) isn’t one of our main liars, she did have some interesting scenes this episode. First off, she’s getting new eyes. Not really. She’s trying to get a prosthetic cornea transplant. Ergo, she can see. Hanna, Spencer, Emily, and Aria make it clear that this isn’t necessarily a good idea. As Hanna said, “Jenna’s scary enough with four senses. Can you imagine what she’s going to do to us with all five?”

Uh oh. Just when we thought things couldn’t get worse.

As I said in the beginning of this recap, I loved this episode. Honestly, one of my favorites. I suppose I just love the Aria/Ezra/Jason love triangle, and they just threw in something to make it more interesting. I think I speak for everyone here. I cannot wait until next week.

Rating: A++++++

Questions:

  • What was your favorite moment of this week’s episode?
  • Who is you favorite liar? (Hanna, Spencer, Aria, Emily)
  • Do you think it was fair for Samara to blow up at Emily?

  1. i am team HALEB all the way. their goodbye scene was such a heartbreaking/emotional scene. i dont want caleb to leave :(*

i knew they had to find a way to write samara off the show since she is going on TVD for a couple eps. although i hope they find a way to bring her back at some point cuz i do love her and emily together.

i love the scenes with jason, even though i do find him slightly creepy (photos of aria sleeping) i was kinda surprised that she stopped him from kissing her saying she wasnt available. but im glad she did. i think she made the right choice.

and what is the deal with mike? and what happen to byron’s brother that reminds mike of him?
