Bad Parenting As Demonstrated By Television Moms

It’s not easy being a parent. You want to be your child’s friend – but you also have to lay down the law sometimes. Some of the best and worse examples exsist on our favorite television shows.

So what should you not do as a parent to help your child? There’s a great example in an upcoming episode of ‘The New Adventure of Old Christine’, Ritchie (Christine’s son) is asked to the school dance by the most popular girl in school! Christine is thrilled and pulls out all the stops to make it an impressive first date. She rents the couple a limo and Ritchie wears a tux to the dance. She even gloats about her son’s new popularity to the more popular ‘meanie’ moms. When Christine overhears that Richie’s date is about to break it off, she tries to bribe her with $100 to stay together, which only makes the situation worse, much worse.

Definitely a good example of bad parenting. What are your thoughts? Do you have any funny stories or additional television parent stories to share?
