‘Royal Pains’ 5.8 Episode Recap And Review: Hammertime

Now that Boris is alive and back at Shadow Pond, can our favorite Hamptonites get on with their lives? Since inception in June 2009, Royal Pains has always been about summertime fun in The Hamptons — but now that the series is five seasons deep, each episode has become more serious. Luckily, because the Milos death conspiracy has been resolved, I honestly believe Royal Pains will get back to it’s normal routine. And by normal, I mean that all the show’s focus will be shifted back toward Hank. The current season is now nine episodes in, and viewers still have yet to see him fully recovered from his brain injury on camera. And while HankMed fans have seen how Mark Feuerstein has coped with the limitations of his injury, his actions could lead to him developing a nasty habit.

Due to the new merger with Symphony Health on the way, I also could see the possibility of Henry battling an addiction, as shown in this week’s previews. The new job will require great responsibility, and since Feuerstein’s character is a bit of a work-a-holic, taking painkillers may be the only solution to keeping up with the increased workload.

But if Henry’s addiction does get out of control, does this mean that Divya and Jeremiah will not only be forced to live together, but work together also to hold down HankMed? And if so, what would that mean for their blossoming kinship?

Share your thoughts about the themes mentioned above, and be sure to catch a new episode of Royal Pains tonight at 9p EST, on USA!
