A Look At Channing Tatum From ‘Fighting’

Channing Tatum’s latest project is that of Fighting which tells the story of Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum), a small-town boy who has come to New York City with nothing but a dark past. When scam artist Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard) offers Shawn help at making real cash by streetfighting, the two form an uneasy partnership.

Before Fighting however, Channing was no stranger to the screen appearing in such films as Step Up, Step Up 2, and Stop Loss. He has a onslaught of films ready to be released as well including Public Enemies, the hugely anticipated G.I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra, The Stanford Prison Experiment, and Pinkville.

Channing was born on April 26th, 1980 in a small town outside of Birmingham, Alabama. He was big into sports as an adolescent thus enjoying track and field, baseball, soccer, and football. However, even with all the activity, Channing was still a bit troublesome and in ninth grade found himself in a military school. College greeted Channing with a full athletic scholarship to a school in West Virginia where he stayed for awhile before leaving and working various jobs such as constructor worker, mortgage broker, and Dillard’s salesman all before finding his way to the world of modeling. Surprising enough, the big break for the actor was being cast in a Ricky Martin music video for “She Bangs”.
