Brittany Murphy Dies After Cardiac Arrest

Brittany Murphy has reportedly died after going into cardiac arrest.

TMZ says that the 32-year-old actress was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

An emergency call was made at 8am this morning from an address belonging to her husband Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles Fire Service said. The star was reportedly found unconscious by her mother while in the shower, with paramedics performing CPR upon arrival. Murphy was reportedly taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Hospital, but could not be revived.

A representative for Murphy said: “In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy.”
