Randy Quaid Arrested for Missing Court

According to reports, Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, were seen packing up their car and heading out of Marfa, Texas on Monday, after being arrested over the weekend.

There was a bench warrant out on the pair for failing to make a court appearance in connection with an unpaid hotel bill in Santa Barbara in excess of $10,000. Police caught up with the couple over the weekend, arresting Quaid on Sunday and his wife on Saturday.

The Marfa Sheriff’s Department couldn’t locate an active warrant on Randy on Saturday when his wife was arrested so he was not picked up at the time. But they returned the next day to arrest him once they tracked it down. He posted bail and was released the same day.

“They were both released from jail after posting bail and we saw them packing-up some belongings into their car and driving off,” says Daniel Dunlap, the mayor of Marfa. “They had not been in the town for a long time but just turned up out of the blue recently just before they were arrested. We had to tow their large truck from outside their building because we wanted to paint some new parking lines and word must have got out to them because they came back to get the truck,” Dunlap adds. “It doesn’t look like they are going to be in Marfa over Christmas and the New Year now and I cannot say what will happen to them in the future.”
