While Hilary Duff may be a bit envious of American Idol singer Carrie Underwood, the star admits that she can “totally relate” to her.
The two stars are both married to athletes, and while Underwood’s hubby Mike Fisher just got transferred to a team a little closer to home, Duff wishes her hockey hubby Mike Comrie, who performs quite a ways away, would be given the same option.
“I’m a little envious of her right now because he just got traded to Nashville,” Duff joked. “Like, ‘Really?’ I’m like, ‘Come on! I’ll take San Jose, I’ll take any place closer than Pittsburgh!”
Underwood’s beau recently got traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators while Duff’s man currently plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins; proving a bit tough seeing as how Duff resides in L.A.
One good thing this brings to the table however; Duff says she and Underwood both understand the hardships of a long-distance marriage. “We get it because we kind of go through the same thing. When we see each other we [talk]. For a while, our guys played on the same team so it was cool to see her there.”
Who knew the former Disney starlet and country singer had anything in common!?
