‘Modern Family’ Star Jesse Tyler Ferguson Helps Officiate New Zealand Same-Sex Marriage

In entertainment news that is just plain cool, Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson helped to officiate the first same-sex marriage in New Zealand. The country is the first in Oceania and the fifteenth in the world to allow same-sex couples to marry, and to commemorate it, Air New Zealand hosted the country’s first same-sex in-flight marriage. The event was complete with guests, celebrities and everything!

Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who is a prominent marriage equality campaigner, helped to perform the ceremony at 30,000 feet for Auckland couple Lynley Bendall and Ally Wanikau. Lynley and Alley have been together for over 13 years now!
