Discovery Channel Plans Chilean Mine Series

Not even a day after the last of the 33 Chilean miners have been brought back above ground, the cashing-in has begun. The Discovery Channel announced an Oct. 28 airdate for Rescued: The Chilean Mine Story.

From the miners and their relatives to rescue workers and Chilean officials, including the mining minister and President Sebastian Piñera, the network says it had exclusive access to everything, including never-before-seen footage of the operation and family reunions.

Meanwhile, Spike is trying to get in on the action too. A 10-episode run of a new series by the name of Coal will begin airing April of 2012.
