Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 comes into play with many changes over the previous year including improvements to the swing mechanics which gives the player even more control over the type of shot you would like to make. You will have 16 championship courses to master your way through with the use of 22 PGA Tour golfers. You can also create your own golfer and climb your way up the rankings as well as the chance to qualify for the masters and earn your chance to wear the green jacket.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 creates the golf experience that you should have as you step up to take each shot. With the adjustable shot set up you can customize your shot to do what you want in a number of different ways no matter what the situation. Whether you need more lift or you need to drive the ball farther, you can control it along with the power that you put into each shot with tempo. There is a lot here to enjoy as you set up your shots and execute them. Every golf fan should be happy with it. The improvements to the swing mechanics really make for an enjoyable experience.

There are a number of different modes for you to play from single player to online. Single player allows you to play in tournaments or in your own create-a-player career mode. There is also a Tiger Legacy Challenge that relives Tiger Woods’ most memorable moments. It’s not the best feature ever but it’s additional content for you to play. Online can be a lot of fun as well as you can compete in “timed” tournaments, that give you a specific amount of time to finish. You can also play with up to 4 players at a time online. One nice feature is that you will not have to wait for each players shot as you play against them online. You will play simultaneously and all you will see is a color streak where their ball is located. Playing online can be a lot of fun, especially in those tournaments, but you will want to make sure you know the game well before you compete online.

This is certainly a good game of golf, one that will definitely frustrate you at times but then also make you jump out of your seat in excitement when sinking a long put. It plays out the way it should and the overall feel that it gives to the player is a great one. You will certainly need to come into this game with a lot of patience for every single shot. If you don’t have patience and you try to fly through each hole, you will be left with a great deal of frustration. I had a few times early on where I got tired of the slow pace of the game in addition to the slightly long loading screens in between holes which ended up affecting the way I played the game.

If you are a golfing fan and enjoy the strategy of the game of golf then I can see you having a great deal of fun with this title. The new swing mechanics are something that you will enjoy perfecting as you attempt each shot. If you are someone who thinks it might be a fun game but not necessarily a big golf person, you will need to take your time with this game and learn how to perfect your shot, otherwise you will not have a good time. The only real negatives that I had with this title was the slightly long load times between each hole and the horrible menu setup, which doesn’t present itself well. I must mention though that visually the game looks solid and the sounds of the game will put you on any quiet golf course, until that is, you attempt your shot.

Overall, I really enjoyed the gameplay, the career mode and the online modes. You will probably want to play a lot of single player first before you take on players online. You will be able to use your create-a-player online. There is plenty of upgrading to do as well for your created player, so you will want to make sure he is ready for the masters of online play. However, you can use any of the 22 available golfers online and that includes 2012 Masters winner Bubba Watson. Lastly, there is nothing better than winning your first tournament and your patience will make it worth it.

  1. This sounds like good fun. I always tend to enjoy golf games and it sounds like they’ve introduced some interesting things into this one.
