Playstation Plus Weekly Update: November 13th – 19th, 2012

Welcome to the second installment of a new weekly series here on Fanbolt, where we go over this week’s Playstation Plus goodies and what you subscribers should be on the lookout for!

Free Games
Quantum Conundrum is the newest title to come to the Instant Game Collection. Fans of Valve’s Portal should get excited about this one- Kim Swift, one of the creative minds behind the original Portal, served as the creative director for Quantum Conundrum at Airtight Games. While the gameplay mechanics initially appear to be in the same vein as Portal, you will quickly realize that this game puts a significant twist on the formula to create a different experience. Be sure to check it out! Between this and the Portal 2 discount, you’ve got all you need.

PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX and Renegade Ops were rotated out this week, and are no longer available- hope you downloaded them while you had the chance. Seeing that Quantum Conundrum was the only title brought in, the Instant Game Collection currently stands at eleven titles, leaving one slot open for the usual twelve. Although a formal announcement has not been made, and image posted on a recent post at the official Playstation Blog seems to indicate that the slot will be filled by Dungeon Defenders next week.

The Instant Game Collection as of 11/13/12
Quantum Conundrum (NEW)
Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition (NEW)
PAYDAY The Heist
The King of Fighters XIII
Double Dragon Neon
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game
Outland
BloodRayne: Betrayal
inFAMOUS 2
Littlebigplanet 2
Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One

Discounts
This week, there are three games receiving discounts. First up is the moody, PC point-and-click hit, Machinarium. If you have been watching Steam or have acquired a Humble Bundle or two, you may have already had the opportunity to grab this for much less than the 30% off PS+ gives you for a price of $6.99.

Next up is Super Stacker Party for a mere $0.89, perfect for those of you that have a useless dollar sitting in your PSN wallet. And finally, Choplifter HD is discounted 10% to $2.69. Longtime PS+ owners will recognize it as previously having been a part of PS+ freebies in the past. Both Choplifter HD and Super Stacker Party‘s discounts expire next week, along with Absolute Supercars from last week.

Finally, there is also a Full Game Trial for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the latest iteration of Valve’s infamous Counter-Strike. Lots of Valve this week!

That about wraps it up for this week’s Playstation Plus goodies. Next week, we add the Playstation Vita to the mix for the first time! Until next time!
