Pier Solar HD RPG Kickstarter for Xbox 360, PC, Mac, Linux and Dreamcast Funded

About a month ago, I wrote about a new Kickstarter bringing a custom homebrew game that was originally made for the Sega Genesis into the HD world on devices such as the Xbox 360, PC, Mac, Linux & Sega Dreamcast. The last one, the Sega Dreamcast, would be high quality, but obviously not in HD of course. Anyways, fast forward to last week where not only was Pier Solar HD funded, but also meet all five of it’s stretch goals for a grand total of $231,370 in investments It was interesting to watch this Kickstarter funding grow over the course of a month. Before it reached it’s initial goal of $139k, it was slowly growing. But once it hit it’s goal, it really took off and quickly reached $200k in just a few days.

Along with being fully funded, this Kickstarter reached all five of its stretch goals. This includes: Japanese translations, Sega Dreamcast extras such as widescreen support, the Directors Cut of Pier Solar HD, a copy for Android and OUYA, and lastly a copy for the Wii U. So late 2013/early 2014 will see many options on how and where to play Pier Solar HD. The current status of the initial goal is expected to be delivered sometime in December of 2013. If you are curious on what Pier Solar is all about, you can find out more at their website here. You can even buy their Sega Genesis copy if you are interested in the game and don’t want to wait a year.
