Cooler Master’s Storm Pulse-R is a computer gaming headset, and a sharp one at that.

Listening to music is one of the first things I do when I get a new pair of headsets. It allows me to hear its offerings with songs that I’m familiar with, and I also listen for quite a long time. This allows me to test out the comfort for long gaming sessions. I’m very impressed with its sound quality, especially in its highs and lows. A lot of headsets always try and go for a powerful base just to try and make the rumblings sound even more impressive. Usually with headsets that try and sport off a loud base, they end up drowning out a lot of the other aspects that are important and even key in some situations of gameplay.

Storm Pulse-R has a good base too, but it’s not obnoxious like so many other headsets out there. It boasts its deep sounds, but it’s a very clear deep sound that doesn’t interrupt the highs. The highs are what I found to be the most impressive with the headset, which allowed me to clearly hear every sound that is presented in a song or on a battlefield. Music sounds fantastic with this headset and the battlefield is even better. There are deep sounds for explosions that don’t get distorted by an overpowering base, and there are high sounds for glass shattering, voices, and bullets zipping by. These sounds are mixed beautifully and don’t force moments where it’s hard to hear one over the other.

I couldn’t be more impressed by the sound quality that the Storm Pulse-R offers, and I believe that most gamers will be pleasantly surprised. They are a sharp looking headset with its black and aluminum styling, and also feel very durable. Also, a lot of gamers will like its white lights that come on when they plug in the USB cord. The lights shine out on the sides of the headset, so players will see the reflection when looking at their computer monitor with a dark screen.

Storm Pulse-R offers a lot of comfort as well as they have a great fit for when playing games for hours at a time. It also has a detachable microphone that’s easy to put on and take off, depending on if someone is playing single or multiplayer. It also features an easy in-line remote for adjusting the volume and muting the microphone.

Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the CM Storm Pulse-R. It’s definitely a headset that gamers will completely appreciate with its quality sound and comfort, two of the most important things when it comes to a headset. Storm Pulse-R is available on Amazon and Newegg for a regular price of $89.99, though it’s been on sale lately at 5 dollars off.
