Bill Hader Leaving ‘Saturday Night Live’

Bill Hader is leaving Saturday Night Live stating, “It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point.”

“It got to a point where I said, ‘Maybe it’s just time to go,'” he adds.

Hader, whose best known on the show for his impressions of Al Pacino and James Carville and his role of “Weekend Update” city correspondent Stefon, joined SNL in 2005.

His last appearance on the series will be on next Saturday’s season finale.

Who else is sad to see Hader depart SNL?

  1. I liked a few of his characters a lot. It will be unfortunate for the show when he leaves. Seth Meyers leaving just makes matters really bad.

  2. Seth Meyers is the head writer so it will be interesting to see what direction the show goes when he leaves. I loved the final Stefon bit. There is an unconfirmed rumor that Jason Sudeikis and Fred Armisen are leaving too (mostly spurred by their final sketch together). If so, next year’s season will be almost an entirely new cast

  3. Stefan’s weekend update bits were rare shining moments on SNL. I will be a lot less likely to watch with him gone.
