Interview: Tina Parol
We had the pleasure of chatting with Tina Parol about her inspirations, her future goals, and how she got her start. Here’s what she had to say:
When did you first start writing songs?
Tina: I wrote my 1st song at age 11. I haven’t stopped since!
What musical artists have inspired your music?
Tina: The Police, Blondie, Pat Benatar, Aerosmith, The Clash and Queen are some favs.
Do you have a favorite song that you’ve written or like to perform?
Tina: I love performing my 1st single “Who’s Got Your Money?” live, because it is such a great sing-a-long, but also “Going Under” – it is fun and energetic!
I read that you like to travel. Where have you been so far, and what places are your favorites?
Tina: I’ve been to a lot of European cities… I love Paris and London. As far as the US, I went to Texas for the 1st time recently and I loved it!
You’ve also said you enjoy designing your own clothes; do you have any interest in a future fashion line?
Tina: Absolutely. The wheels in my brain are turning and I assure you a lot is brewing up in my head!
How have you grown musically since you started this industry?
Tina: I’ve become more confident in who I am as an artist and as a person. I know what I want and am not afraid to voice it in the studio. Or in life. Take it or leave it!
If you weren’t singing for a career, what would you be doing?
Tina: I refuse to answer that!!! I’m made for this.
If you had to describe your sound in 3 words, what would they be?
Tina: Colorful. Fun. Energetic.
When you’re not working on music, what are your favorite things to do? Any must see television series?
Tina: I don’t watch much TV because I’m a very active person. I get up early. I love cooking, walking around NYC, hanging with friends. I looooove going out to restaurants of all sorts. I just dig exploring.
What’s next for you?
Tina: World domination, duh.
