24: Live Another Day – Jack Bauer Actually Experiences Technical Difficulties

Yes, it’s true. Jack Bauer actually experienced technical difficulties. Or was it?

I actually believe that someone was trying to keep Jack quiet during a conference call on Wednesday, April 30th. The former CTU agent was trying to provide the press with information regarding an upcoming attack in London, which is apparently set for May 5th. It’s believed that some type of electronic interference device was used to keep Jack Bauer from reporting on this upcoming incident. “There’s an awful ringing on my phone,” said Jack.

Who could be doing this, I wonder.

Thankfully, the press (myself included) will try once again in the future to get in touch with Jack to discover more about everything that’s set to happen in London. Special coverage of this event (24: Live Another Day) can be seen on FOX, beginning at 8pm eastern time.

And now for the real story.

I was on a conference call with Kiefer Sutherland today to discuss the upcoming premier of 24: Live Another Day. It ended early due to technical difficulties with his phone, but the call is going to be rescheduled. However, before it was postponed, a few members of the press were able to get a couple of questions answered, though mine will have to wait until the next call.

Kiefer Sutherland did have a moment to describe the advantage of doing a 2 hour format for the new series, finding it to be beneficial for his character. It provides the opportunity to have Jack Bauer get on a plane or train at the end of an episode and get off at the start of the next episode. I imagine it would be much more entertaining than watching Jack sitting down, twiddling his thumbs while traveling during an entire hour or two of the show, if it were still done by the original 24 hour format. I bet Jack actually does travel a lot in the upcoming season!

We’re actually going to see Jack go to greater lengths to get things done!! Excitement!

Sutherland also went on to say that there wasn’t anything different with his approach to returning as the character of Jack Bauer. There was only a bit of nervousness for him when they officially started filming again.

That’s pretty much all that came out of this brief, full of interference phone call. However, like I mentioned before, I will rejoin the call once it’s officially rescheduled. Please leave a comment below if you have any questions that you would like answered in the upcoming conference call with Kiefer Sutherland. I will do my best to get a few of them answered.

  1. We know Jack and Chloe will be at odds in the beginning, but I’d like to know how the relationship will change over the course of the season.

Also, will there be any romance for Jack? (I’m a girl. I wanna know this stuff!)

    Thanks!
