‘Glee’ Newbie Darren Criss In Talks To Become A Series Regular

The day after his Glee debut, Darren Criss is in discussions to join the Fox series as a regular, Deadline reports.

The 23-year-old actor would most likely join the cast full time starting in Season 3, according to the report. Glee was given an early renewal for next season last May.

Criss was introduced in Tuesday’s episode as Blaine, a gay student at a local all-boys academy. He befriends Kurt (Chris Colfer) and helps him deal with bullying at McKinley High. Blaine is also a member of the Dalton Academy’s glee club, the Warblers, one of the teams Kurt’s New Directions must face in sectionals.

So what does this possible promotion mean for Kurt’s new source of courage? Will Blaine become more than a friend to Kurt? Is Kurt switching to Dalton Academy, or is Blaine headed for New Directions at McKinley High?
