1957 – Elvis Presley inhaled a cap from one of his teeth. He had to be taken to a Los Angeles hospital to have it removed from his lung.

1974 – The Rolling Stones’ Bill Wyman released his first solo album, Monkey Grip. This marked the first solo effort by any member of the band.

1984 – Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band enlisted Nils Lofgren to replace “Miami” Steve Van Zandt.

1994 – Sting and Nancy Wilson of Heart received honorary doctorates from Boston’s Berklee College of Music.

1995 – Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland was arrested after attempting to buy drugs in a Pasadena, California motel parking lot.
