1977 – Supertramp released “Give A Little Bit.”

1984 – Bruce Springsteen’s classic album Born in the U.S.A. was released.

1992 – After a round of nationwide voting, the U.S. Postal Service declared that people preferred the “younger Elvis” stamp design.

1996 – Metallica released their album Load.

1997 – After disappearing the previous Thursday, Jeff Buckley’s body was found floating in a harbor leading to the Mississippi River.
