1957 – Dale Hawkins released “Susie Q”.

1959 – A student named Bob Zimmerman graduated from a Hibbing, Minnesota high school. He became much better known after changing his name to Bob Dylan.

1964 – David Jones and The King Bees released their first record “Liza Jane”. He later became known as David Bowie.

1969 – The Doors documentary “Feast of Friends” premiered.

1971 – James Taylor released “You’ve Got A Friend.”

1974 – Patti Smith recorded her first tune, a version of “Hey Joe.”

1977 – Alice Cooper’s pet boa constrictor died after being bitten by the rat it was trying to eat.

1995 – The Breeders’ Kelley Deal pled guilty to drug possession charges, and was sentenced to rehab.
