1964 – The Beatles released the album A Hard Day’s Night.

1977 – Elvis Presley played his final concert at Market Square Arena, Indianapolis.

1986 – Metallica frontman James Hetfield broke his wrist trying to skateboard down a hill. The band cancelled one show and Hetfield performed the remainder of dates on the tour on vocals only and with John Marshall on guitar.
