1965 – The Beatles were honored with MBE (Member of the British Empire) medals.

1978 – The Police performed their first show on American soil at Boston’s Rat Club.

1980 – Jefferson Starship’s Paul Kantner suffered a brain hemorrhage while recording. He recovered fully after a 15-day stay in the hospital.

1981 – “Under Pressure” was recorded by Queen and David Bowie in Montreaux, Switzerland.

1992 – Pearl Jam broke the record for a first week of sales when their Vs. album sold 950,000 copies.

1998 – Marilyn Manson hit the road in Kansas City, Missouri for his Mechanical Animals tour.
