The Mentalist Lands Simon Baker A $30 Million Deal

The Mentalist star Simon Baker is finalizing a deal with Warner Bros. Television for more than $30 million.

Money already promised to Baker [via his current contract], along with another added year to the actor’s six-season contract is being confirmed to be the two major contributing reasons. As if that isn’t enough, Baker will also begin receiving a producer credit on the series beginning in Season 5 and will receive an additional piece of the show’s royalties. Warner Bros. sold the syndication rights to TNT in November 2009 for $2.2 million per episode.

The Mentalist, which debuted in 2008 and quickly became television’s new number one drama, has averaged 16 million viewers in its third season, and consistently ranks as one of the most DVR-ed shows on television.
