Happy Titanfall Release Day! Celebrate With New Video/Info!

Today is the day! Titanfall begins releasing worldwide and lots of lucky folks already have their hands on it. I’m sure those who do will be celebrating with all night binges and pronounced drop in productivity. Alas, for many of us will have to wait for our giant mech parkour combat fix. It might be due to budget constraints or simply the bad luck of living in a country that won’t get the title for a few days. Cheer up! We’ve got some fun stuff to keep you busy and informed while you wait!

First off, is some good news for the future of the game and those of you who have been following resolutiongate. As it ships now, Titanfall is running at 792p, but it might not stay that way. Speaking to Eurogamer, Respawn lead engineer Richard Baker brought up the possibility of a post release patch to improve the resolution. Specifically he mentioned that “the target is either 1080p non-anti-aliased or 900p with FXAA”. So hold on to your butts, you may be seeing a higher resolution Titanfall later on!

In addition to this, for those of you who desperately need some form of Titanfall fix now, we’ve got you covered. How about 8-bit Titans? You heard right, as a bit of a promo leading up to release, EA has put up a Titanfall arcade with the intent of releasing classic 8-bit games with the minor twist that you play as a titan instead. So far they only have Asteroids, but Missile Command and Centipede are listed as coming soon.

Still not enough for you? Is Titanfall consuming you’re every living moment? Your dreams, your daydreams. Are you spending hours at work staring at your computer screen, dreaming of what it’d be like to  have you’re very own mecha? Well, you’re not alone. Microsoft and EA have released an extended commercial with a vision of what it would be like to live your life with a Titan. Check it out below:

Hopefully, we’ve managed to ease a bit of your nervous twitching in wait for Titanfall, or maybe we’ve made it worse! Either way, our job here is done! Now excuse me while I go sit in a corner and rock back and forth, waiting for the day I get my hands on a copy.
