Netflix, Kevin Spacey, And David Fincher Team Up for Original Series

Netflix is entering the world of original programming after outbidding AMC and HBO to get the rights to the drama House of Cards.

The series will be directed and executive produced by David Fincher, and will star Kevin Spacey who will also be an executive producer. The show is based on the book and British miniseries of the same name. It follows a British politician with aspirations to be prime minister during the tail-end of Margaret Thatcher’s tenure.

While negotiations are still going on, Netflix managed to acquire the project by offering 26 episodes over two seasons. The deal is believed to be over $100 million.
