First Look at ‘Lost’ Co-Creator Damon Lindelof’s New Series ‘The Leftovers’

HBO aired the first trailer for Damon Lindelof’s new series, The Leftovers, last night before Game of Thrones. The new series from the co-creator of Lost and the acclaimed novelist Tom Perrotta takes an original look at The Rapture… Because it’s not entirely clear that The Rapture happened when only 2% of the world’s population abruptly disappears without an explanation. The series examines the post-Rapture world as it struggles to understand what happened and what they’re supposed to do about it.

Justin Theroux stars as Kevin Garvey, a father of two and the chief of police in a small New York suburb, who is trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy when that notion no longer applies.

Additional series regulars include Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Charlie Carver, Max Carver, Carrie Coon, Ann Dowd, Michael Gaston, Emily Meade, Annie Q, Margaret Qualley, Amanda Warren and Chris Zylka.

The series is executive produced by Damon Lindelof, Tom Perrotta, Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey, with Lindelof serving as showrunner. Ron Yerxa and Albert Berger co-executive produce; pilot written by Lindelof and Perrotta, and directed by Peter Berg. Produced for HBO by Adventure Corps in association with Warner Bros. Television.

The Leftovers debuts Sunday, June 29th on HBO.
