‘Halloween 3’ Confirmed for Pre-Production

It’s been about 5 years since the last Halloween film was released and fans of the franchise who have needed their Michael Myers fix may soon be able to rejoice.

The official website for the Halloween franchise has released a statement  confirming a third movie is in pre-production. The statement reads:

As you know, we do not comment on rumors regarding a Halloween film in any stage of production no matter how accurate or inaccurate they may be. However, over the past few months, we have been flooded with ton(s) of emails, tweets, facebook postings etc… regarding the status of next installment.

As we stated before, we are dedicated to the fans of the Halloween series just as much as we are dedicated to delivering a film that we believe the fans deserve and will, most importantly, love. With that being said, we can confirm that a new installment of Halloween is indeed in on track and moving forward. We are currently developing a script, to finally bring Michael back to the theaters!”

It’s unknown if a writer or director are on board, but Todd Farmer and Patrick Lussier were previously working on a screenplay. It’s also not known if the new film will be a sequel to Rob Zombie’s take, another reboot or something else entirely, like Texas Chainsaw 3D.

While the official website confirmed the development of the film, it did not confirm whether it would be in 3D, as previously rumored.
