Baz Luhrmann May Direct Elvis Presley Biopic

Warner Bros. is developing an Elvis Presley biopic, and Baz Luhrmann (The Great Gatsby) is currently in talks to direct. The untitled project is being written by Kelly Marcel (Saving Mr. Banks).

It’s currently unknown if the project is going to look at a specific era of Presley’s life, though Warner Bros. has reportedly already sorted out rights access to the musician’s full music library.

Luhrmann was already reportedly looking at possibly directing a big screen version of the 1970’s TV series Kung Fu,but a biopic around Elvis Presley appears as if it would be a much stronger fit to his style.
