‘Cougar Town’ Renewed for Final Season

Cougar Town has been renewed for a sixth and final season by TBS.

The Courteney Cox led series will close out its run with a 13 episodes in early 2015. The 13-episode final season order will bring the comedy’s total episode count past 100 episodes, which makes it a candidate for syndication.

Cougar Town debuted on ABC in 2009 and was saved from cancellation by TBS after the network decided not to bring the show back after its third season. After joining TBS in January 2013, the show became one of cable’s Top 10 comedies in the key adults 18-49 demographic, with the most recent season averaging a little more than 2 million viewers and 1.3 demo rating.

Cougar Town is not the only U.S. comedy set for a final season next year – Amy Poehler’s Parks & Recreation will end after its upcoming seventh run. The hit show debuted in 2009 and the finale season is slated to air early next year.
