Lily Allen Was Almost In ‘Game Of Thrones’

Many fans may already know that Game of Thrones character Theon Greyjoy is portrayed by actor Alfie Allen, brother to famous singer Lily Allen. A less known fact, however, is that Lily was given the opportunity to play a role on the show opposite her brother, but politely declined when she found out what said role required.

The role of Yara Greyjoy, Theon’s long-lost (then found) sister, could have been Lily’s,  but she found the subject matter less than desirable. Remember the uncomfortable scene when Theon and Yara were reunited after years apart and Yara had a little Game of Thrones-style fun by letting her brother feel her up before revealing who she was to him?

Yeah, Lily wasn’t cool with that at all.

The star told Reddit during an Ask Me Anything:

“…I’ve been asked to do a Game of Thrones cameo, they asked me if I’d be interested in playing Theon’s sister, and I felt uncomfortable because I would have had to go on a horse and he would have touched me up and sh*t. Once they told me what was entailed, I said no thanks. I would be open to doing a musical cameo like Sigur Ros, though.”

The role, of course, ended up going to the talented Gemma Whelan.

There’s a Lannister joke in here somewhere, but I’ll leave that to you all in the comments.
