James Spader May Join ‘The Office’

James Spader is in talks to replace Kathy Bates as the CEO of Dunder Miffin parent Sabre on The Office.

Kathy Bates is unable to continue playing the role because of her new show Harry’s Law. The decision for Spader to replace her came about after his appearance as someone trying to take Michael Scott (Steve Carell )’s job.

Spader doesn’t have a deal yet, but his character Robert California will be introduced as a replacement for Scott, before doing such a good job that he gets an even better job as a CEO. This will leave the position once again open for whoever they decide will replace him. Everyone from Will Ferrell, Ricky Gervais, Will Arnett and series stars Ed Helms, Craig Robinson and Rainn Wilson are all being considered for the job.
