Fan Favorite To Return To ‘The Vampire Diaries’ As Regular

Fans of The Vampire Diaries may still be reeling from the season finale last night, but some good news has come from the upsetting season ender.

Fan favorite Alaric Saltzman, played by actor Matt Davis, was killed off in the season three finale, but reappeared last night after a successful spell  that returned (some) loved ones from the Other Side was cast, and his ghost was resurrected.

As many know, Alaric previously took on many different roles within the show, from history teacher, to vampire hunter, to Elena and Jeremy’s caretaker, among others. Now that news of his returning as a series regular has broken, it’s interesting to theorize what role he’ll play in the show when it returns for its 6th season.

During Davis’ stint away from the show, he starred Cult, the (sadly) short-lived CW series that barely made it through its entire first season, as well as multiple appearances on CSI.

Are you glad to see Alaric return to the show? What do you think this could mean for next season?
