E3 2014: Uncharted 4 teaser trailer, release window, and title revealed

Sony usually tries to save the best – or at least the most anticipated – for last. Many were hoping that the last reveal at their 2014 E3 press conference would be The Last Guardian. Instead, they surprised us all with a new teaser for Uncharted, a game shrouded in mystery thanks to the turmoil within developer Naughty Dog itself.

More surprisingly, the game is apparently still on track for a 2015 release. I had it pegged for early 2016. So that’s good news for fans that can’t wait to sink their teeth into Drake’s next adventure. They also revealed the title of the game to be Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, perhaps signaling the end of Drake’s run. Of course, we all know that successful franchises never end when they’re supposed to, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Naughty Dog is ready to move on. History says three to four games is enough for them.

The teaser trailer above features an absolutely stunning character model for Drake. He’s severely weathered, though still wearing his wedding band. Sully’s voice can be heard loud and clear, though it rings from afar, perhaps in Drake’s head. The game is confirmed to run in 1080p, with a target of 60fps. All of the capture footage is in-engine on Naughty Dog’s PS4 engine.

Let us know what you think about the teaser, and what situation Drake could possibly be in!
