E3 2014: The Last of Us Remastered for PS4 has a release date, new DLC details, trailer

All rumors can now be laid to rest. The Last of Us Remastered is not coming out next week, but it is coming soon – July 29th. The Last of Us is one of the highest-scoring games of all time, and received many game of the year awards in 2013. The remastered edition is coming to us just a year after the original release, but now on Sony’s shiny new console.

The PlayStation 4 has allowed the developers to up the resolution to 1080p and target 60fps, which the trailer below will demonstrate. The developers are also working on improving character models, textures, lighting, etc. Though, from a glance, it doesn’t appear to be as substantial an upgrade as, say, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. Still, The Last of Us is already a damn-good-looking game, so it’s all just icing on the cake really.

The game comes complete with the Left Behind campaign, multiplayer map pack, and single player difficulty DLC. Naughty Dog was also pleased to confirm that all of the other PS3 DLC will carry over to PS4 if you’ve already purchased it.

WARNING: The trailer below does contain out-of-context spoilers. Tread carefully if you haven’t played the game – maybe it’s better to just trust us, and buy it without watching. It’s that good, guys.
