CBS Orders Sci-Fi Series ‘Zoo’
CBS has taken an adaptation of James Patterson’s 2012 novel Zoo straight through to a series order. The network announced that the show will have a thirteen-episode order to air as part of its summer programming next year.
Zoo centers on a young renegade biologist who must uncover the secret behind a wave of violent animal attacks against humans.
CBS Entertainment Chairman Nina Tassler said in a statement, “Zoo further demonstrates our commitment to high-quality, year-round programming and to high-concept series that play to summer audiences in the U.S., as well as on a global scale. With this No. 1 bestseller coming to television, we’re excited to give our viewers a thrill ride with another blockbuster summer event.”
CBS had a successful summer scripted run last year with Under the Dome and is looking to maintain that momentum during the traditionally-down summer months.
