‘The Wonder Years’ Cast Reunites for ‘Good Morning America’ Interview

Fred Savage has reunited with his The Wonder Years co-stars for the first time in 16 years for a special TV interview.

The former child star, who played lead character Kevin Arnold in the coming-of-age sitcom, recently sat down with cast members Josh Saviano, Alley Mills, Jason Hervey, Olivia d’Abo and Danica McKellar, who portrayed his love interest Winnie Cooper, to reminisce about their time on the late 1980s series for Good Morning America.

During the interview, which aired on Tuesday, Savage admitted he was a ball of nerves as he filmed his first ever onscreen kiss with McKellar, confessing, “It was terrifying! We were both really scared and nervous and didn’t know what was gonna happen, if we were gonna do it right. All that stuff (their characters experienced) was very real…”

Savage adds, “I see these episodes, and I remember shooting. It’s an incredible kind of time capsule for us. I mean, this was our childhood.”

Meanwhile, actor Dan Lauria, who played Savage’s TV dad Jack Arnold, credited the young stars’ parents with keeping the kids focused and grounded on set, helping them avoid the pitfalls of fame as they grew up in the spotlight.

Lauria, who was interviewed separately, said, “I think that’s why they’re all still involved in the (entertainment) business. You know, Josh is a big entertainment lawyer, Jason’s a producer and Fred’s a director. All this crap about kids from TV shows having terrible lives? Look at The Wonder Years. They all did great.”

The series ran from 1988 until 1993.
