‘Once Upon a Time’ Panel News and Highlights from Comic-Con 2014

The Once Upon a Time panel was held at Comic-Con 2014 today and fans learned more about the addition of Frozen cast members, as well as what’s in store for the residents of Storybrooke when we return.

Executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis and cast members Lana Parilla, Emilie de Ravin, Jennifer Morrison, Jared Gilmore, Colin O’Donoghue, Robert Carlyle, Josh Dallas, were in attendance fand we’ve got some interesting season 4 details.

When we left Storybrooke last season, Regina was nursing a freshly broken heart, the Charmings were adjusting to the addition of a new baby boy and Queen Elsa was seen making her way toward the town. Lana spoke a bit about how the Regina will handle Robin Hood and Marion’s reunion and ensured fans that although we know what generally happens when the Evil Queen is angry, this go ’round she’s not going to react in quite the same manner. Lana also noted that Regina’s main concern is still her relationship with Henry, so she’s going to be sure to think everything through as a way to protect that bond.

All of the Charmings are still adjusting to the arrival of the new baby, and the subject of Emma’s lonely upbringing versus the family her brother will be surrounded with will definitely be touched upon. It seems that she and Hook are still going strong when we return as well. Colin O’Donoghue let the crowd know that Hook is still working to become the man worthy of Emma’s love.

Rumple will continue to struggle with his addiction to power and now that he and Belle are married, their union could be put to the test because of it. Don’t look for their honeymoon period to last very long, but before it ends we’ll be treated to an iconic Beauty and the Beast honeymoon scene.

When it comes to the mysterious Frozen storyline, Kitsis and Horowitz promise that the characters will all stay true to how they were in the movie. They also urge fans not to look at this as a sequel to the Disney animated film, but instead a look at how the characters would interact with the residents of Storybrooke. Rumplestiltskin and Anna will cross paths as well, and the producers raised the concern of what happens when she, the beacon of sweetness and light, meets the power-hungry self preserving Rumple. Surprisingly, Prince Charming may also have an unknown connection to the Frozen plotline, with Josh Dallas hinting that it’s “very possible” that he knows about Arendelle.

The new season of Once Upon a Time premieres September 28th on ABC.

  1. Thank you for this summary! Very much appreciated 🙂
Was that all there was on Killian and Emma? Only that he will keep on fighting for Emma? To be hobest, I was hoping that after all the fighting Killian did for her, Emma would be the one to fight for him S4 or that he simply wouldn’t have to fight any more…at least not as hard, having sacrificed everything for her and proven over and over again how much he loves her.

  2. I hope Belle got a tiny time to give us a flashback to her own history, and see like the last season more or her character by itself. In the other hand I’m worried at how they are gonna manage the Rumbelle thing, prays for the best.
